About Kitty

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Kitty Tsz-Ki Liu studied the erhu and the piano since a young age. She attained the Performance Diploma (the Central Conservatory of Music) for erhu (Chinese violin) in 2013 and the ATCL Diploma for piano in 2012.​ During her Undergraduate studies at the University of Hong Kong, Liu minored in Music with experiences in music composition, arranging and electroacoustic music production.

As Erhuist

Throughout her education, Liu actively participated in different Chinese Orchestras / Music ensemble groups including the Island Youth Chinese Orchestra (2008-2013, as a concertmaster in the year of 2012-2013), the Hong Kong Art of Huqin (2010-2018), the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra (2013-2014, as a Gaohuist) and the Hong Kong University Students' Union Chinese Orchestra (2015-2018, as a Gaohuist, Erhuist and Zhonghuist). Liu performed in many concerts and live shows including a television show "Caritas Star Studded Charity Show 2014“ broadcasted by the Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) with the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra.

As Singer/Chorister

Across years Liu actively participated in different school choirs as a Soprano or Alto since she was in primary school. During the year of 2016-2017, she was the Alto Part Leader of the Hong Kong University Students' Union Choir. During her Master study in London in 2020-2022, she joined The Mockingbird, an a cappella group based in London, as a Soprano and participated in various online and live performances as well as in their annual concert as a Soloist and Backing Vocalist. Liu also produces her own singing cover videos on her personal Instagram.

Other experiences

Liu completed her MSc Audiological Science with Clinical Practice at University College London in 2022 and is now working as a Paediatric Audiologist in NHS. She is registered with the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) as a Clinical Physiologist (Audiology) (ID: 60982) and with the Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC) as a hearing aid dispenser (ID: HAD005075). In 2020 Liu completed her Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science (Double Degree) at the University of Hong Kong (Professional Core in Science Education; Major in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology; Minor in Music) and attained the teaching qualification from the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

​Liu studied ballet since her young age and attained the level of Advanced 1 with Merit in 2017.
